"Embarking on transforming your business requires a change in mindset. You must be determined to work every day to improve your business and work towards improving your operating skills. This means small changes should happen daily, committing yourself to seeing each aspect of the TURNAROUND to its full completion. Remember that extraordinary people are simply those who do ordinary things more consistently than others. Be invested in the change you want to see in your business. If you have employees, announce that they will see changes coming in your business soon—this holds you accountable and prepares them for the shift.

Be willing to explain why you are making these changes so they understand your ‘why’; this will build in them a commitment to the mission and prevent frustration. To be successful with your TURNAROUND, you must turn yourself into a Spartan warrior, committed to training yourself every day and perfecting the craft of being a business owner. You must be an unapologetic implementor who recognizes that no one is greater than the business and that everyone who works for it is subject to it and must do their job. Before you read Chapter Two, make a personal commitment to work every day, even if there are setbacks. Yesterday is over and today is a new day to lock in and commit to winning.
